Start with the final format

Confirm the finished width and height, orientation, page count and binding before preparing artwork. Keep book pages, spreads and production sheets clearly labelled.

Use original images

Original camera or gallery files are preferable to screenshots and repeatedly forwarded images. Resolution should be assessed at the final printed size.

Bleed and safe margins

Full-bleed work needs artwork beyond the trim edge. Keep important text and faces inside the safe area. We confirm the exact bleed and safe margins for the chosen product and binding.

PDF and colour

For print-ready files, embed fonts or supply outlined artwork where appropriate. Export with the agreed page order and colour profile. Ask us to confirm export settings before a large or colour-critical job.

Cover and spine

The cover template depends on finished size, page block and binding. Do not estimate spine width from a sample image.

Approval

Check names, dates, spelling, photo crops, page order and selected specifications before approval. Changes after approval may affect cost and timing.
